Handshake

When you use Handshake we collect: your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up; your team information, open dates, game locations, and schedule data (including schedules you import from GameChanger); messages you send through the platform; and basic technical data like device type and app usage needed to keep the service running.
We use your information to run Handshake: showing your open dates to other coaches, matching teams for games, sending notifications about requests and locked games, and providing support when you contact us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Other coaches on Handshake can see the team information and availability you choose to post; that is the point of the board. Behind the scenes, we use trusted service providers to operate the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Handshake accounts are for coaches and team administrators who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Team schedules on the platform refer to youth teams, but Handshake does not collect names, contact information, or other personal details about individual players.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
You can update your team and contact information in the app at any time. You can ask us to delete your account and data by emailing info@handshakeapp.co. You can opt out of non-essential emails using the link in any email we send.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
